Painting Laminate Furniture

Before

After

I am not very fond of laminate furniture but it did serve its purpose when my kids were young.  Now I would accept or buy an inexpensive piece because of the tutorial at Makely School for Girls.  Lindsay has done a wonderful job going through each step and has an update about a product she discovered after her original post.
Please visit Makely School for Girls for all the details.  There is no use in wasting a perfectly strong piece of furniture if it can be reworked into something suitable and beautiful!

Today .... keep it simple and make it real.

More Magical Makeovers!

Because CH and I renew and repurpose junky furniture, we are always looking for inspiration from other DIY'ers.  Today is a show and tell from a few inspirational pieces that I found while perusing the web.

Anytime something can be reborn and reused is good for the wallet, the environment and the happiness factor.

Take a look and enjoy!

Highlighting again

"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."

Leonardo da Vinci

Keep it simple and keep it cheap is my motto.  In that vein, I was trolling the web and found a great example of a furniture makeover.

The DIY'er took a relatively simply nightstand it transformed it to a simple yet sophisticated piece.  She had all necessary materials on hand so the cost was basically nothing.  What more could we ask?

Highlight on Sunday

There is almost nothing better than finding a makeover that screams "try this".  Well, I haven't tried it yet but it is on my short list.  I am referring to a before and after table project from Diane Henckler on In My Own Style.

What Diane has accomplished with paper and glue is amazing.

From this - which is fine in its own right.

To this fabulous piece!

Please head on over to Diane's site to get the full story and detailed how-to's.
