I have lots of files with tips that do not fit into any particular categories. Here are a few that may be applicable to your lives.
These are from Marjorie Bligh, who is Australia's answer to Martha Stewart.
Ever lose the back of an earring on the floor? Take the hose attachment of the vacuum cleaner and slide it into a pantyhose leg. Sweep the area—the vacuum will pull up the back of the earring, but the stocking will prevent it from going into the bag.
Does your goldfish look a little sluggish? To cure a goldfish of constipation, feed it Epsom salts. One to two teaspoons per five gallons should do the trick.
Need to roll the baby stroller into the house but hate the thought of dirty wheels on your floors and carpet? Take four plastic shower caps (like the find you get gratis at hotels) and wrap them over the wheels before you come inside.
Trying to photograph a baby smiling is a mixture of stress and good timing—to entertain the little one, place a little bit of low-tack tape, like scotch tape, on the palm of his hands. He'll be entertained while trying to remove it.
Prevent sticky buildup and drips on your bottles: Wrap a pipe cleaner around the neck of teriyaki sauce, ketchup, honey and even medicine bottles to catch the drips and keep the bottle clean.
Can you use these?
Meanwhile .... keep it simple and make it real.
