Today is the reveal of our latest project. CH and I worked on the china cabinet makeover for only a few days. We received the cabinet from my pal, Kathy's, estate sale over a year ago. It has been used all that time but it wasn't making a bright statement - especially since we have so many other dark pieces. We decided to paint it blue to have it stand out and go with other blue accents we have in the room.
This is the cabinet, without the door, in its original state. It is upside down so that CH could get at more places to sand.
This is the piece, still without the door, with the priming completed.
And here it is complete with blue paint and silver knobs. The inside is painted white for contrast. The glass in the door is old and a little wavy so the white looks a little funny.
This cabinet is definitely not being sold. We are keeping this forever.
I hope you like it.
Meanwhile .... keep it simple and make it real.
Jeanne
Just found your blog this morning. Love the China cabinet, if only I could persuade my better half to do similar to ours. Perhaps I'll show him your photo's later to try and change his mind. Will look in again. THANK YOU
